Summary

Definition of procedure text
Procedure text is text designed to describe how something is done/achieved through a sequence of actions or steps.

Purpose of procedure text
Procedure text has a social function to describe an order or instructions on how something is done/achieved in order or the correct steps.

Generic Structure of procedure text

• Step

Language Feature of procedure text
• present tense,
• imperative, 
• action verb, 
• connectives, 
• adverb.

1. Imperative
Imperative sentence is a sentence that is used to make command, request, or instruction.
Imperative sentences generally end with an exclamation but can also be ends by a period. In the usual imperative sentence procedural texts used is what functions as an instruction (instruction) and command (command). There is also a negative imperative that serves to show that we not allowed to do anything. Take a look at some examples imperative sentence below.
∴ Add a glass of coconut milk into a pan and then boil it.
∴ Do not spray water on the control panel of the washing machine.
∴ Remove the toner cartridge carefully.
∴ Serve it warmly in the rice bowl
2. Must and Mustn't
Must is used to express that we have to do something important
∴ e.g. : You must press the on button to start the machine.
Mustn't is used to express that we are forbidden to do something.
∴ e.g. You musn't refill the ink before it runs out.
3. Sentence Connectors for Telling Actions in Order.
Connectors are used to join groups of words, both phrases and sentence. You can use these connectors to link paragraphs to be coherent. Sentence connectors are usually written at the beginning of a sentence. Try to read and study the example paragraph below carefully.

First of all, create a shopmart.com account. Then, find your desired items you
want to order. Click on “Add to Cart”. Next, continue shopping until your
desired items have all been placed in the cart. Make sure you review your cart

4. Adverbs
Adverb is a word that describes a verb, adjective or adverb other. An adverb usually consists of an adjective + ly such as
